TYE TRIBBETT NOMINATED FOR THE BET AWARD

Motown Gospel recording artist Tye Tribbett has been nominated for a BET Award for Best Gospel Artist, it was announced today via BET Networks. This is Tribbett’s first nomination and is being recognized for his hit album GREATER THAN.
GREATER THAN was released to critical and consumer acclaim and became a huge hit. The CD, was the highest debut of any gospel album in 2013 and debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart, Number 4 on the Top Digital Albums Chart and Number 9 on the Top 200 Chart. GREATER THAN has maintained a Top 10 position for 40 weeks on the Top Gospel Albums Chart.
Tribbett’s first single “If He Did It Before…Same God” peaked at number 3 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs Chart and garnered him a Soul Train Music Award win for Best Gospel/Inspirational Song of the Year and a 2014 Grammy Award for Gospel Song of the Year. The album also won a Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album (Greater Than).
Tribbett’s BET Award nomination comes as the latest of headline-grabbing news with a Sunday frontpage feature in one of the nation’s largest newspapers, The Star-Ledger, a six-page spread feature in the April issue of national publication Sister 2 Sister Magazine among high profile performances of his current Billboard Top 15 smash single “He Turned It” on UNCF’s ‘An Evening of Stars and Celebration of Gospel and an appearance on 106 & Park – all on BET Networks. Tye is nominated along side Donnie McClurkin, Erica Campbell, Tamela Mann, and Hezekiah Walker.
